Japanese flavours

2001

When the St Pierres Sushi scouts started visiting Japan back in the early 1990s they quickly discovered there was more to Japan than just Sushi. So the first Bento Bowl was born in 2001.

Bento Bowl is a showcase of some of Japan's most popular street foods. The Bento Bowl odyssey has grown into over 20 locations next to selected St Pierres Sushi stores.

Hot meals on rice or with soup

The Bowl signifies delicious hot meals on rice or with soup.

By far the most iconic Bowl is the Katsu Chicken Bowl. A chicken thigh fillet in panko crumbs, deep fried and serve on hot rice with Teriyaki sauce a special house Japanese mayo and Japanese coleslaw.

The noodle soup bowls include chicken, beef, prawn, vegetarian served with udon, ramen or Soba buckwheat noodles. Especially good in winter.

A bento is a sectioned tray where a variety of hot and cold meats, seafoods, salads and sides are served as one magical dining experience.

Our ingredients

All Bento Bowl cooking sauces, soups and dressings are sourced from Japans most popular purveyors as well as some boutique suppliers.

For example our udon soup base comes from the island of Shodoshima in Kagawa, an area famous for udon noodles.

At Bento Bowl we prepare all our meals and sauces from scratch in our kitchens including our famous Bento Bowl mayo and fresh hand panko crumbed Katsu Chicken.
